The Minnesota Committee in Support of a Democratic Iran (MCSDI) is an independent organization supporting human rights and democracy in Iran and has no association with any political group. Specifically, MCSDI has not, and will not, cooperate with the National Iranian American Council (NIAC). We strongly believe NIAC is an active powerful lobbyist working on behalf of the Islamic Republic in Iran.

Today, however, we are witnessing their anger turned into an all out uprising. What had begun as a protest for killing of Mahsa Amini, a 22 year-old girl, at the hands of the so-called “morality police” in Tehran since September 2022, has now morphed into an all out revolt against the tyrannical Islamic regime in Iran.
