Vision Statement

To promote freedom, democracy, secularism, and human rights in Iran.

Mission Statement

To bring public awareness to the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy and to organize the community to actively support democracy in Iran.

To bring about awareness and understanding of the state of human rights in Iran and the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy to the general public and elected officials as well as to organize the community to actively participate in supporting democracy in Iran.

MCSDI is a grassroots organization of conscientious Iranian-Americans in Minnesota dedicated to supporting people’s struggle for democracy and human rights in Iran. As a democratic organization, we welcome diverse political/social /ethnic backgrounds, all united around the ideals of a democratic Iran.

What we want / Our ideals

Our ideal revolves around an improved state of human rights and living conditions in Iran. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Democratic elections for a democratic government in Iran.
  • Separation of church and state and a secular and democratic form of government in Iran.
  • Release of all political prisoners.
  • End of discrimination against women, ethnic, and religious minorities.
  • Civil liberties: The basic human rights of freedom of speech, assembly and justice for all.
  • Protection of innocent civilians from mass arrests, torture and execution.
  • Protection of the press and freedom of information and end of state sponsored censorship.
  • Environmental justice: Protection of the environmental and natural resources in Iran.
