The Minnesota Committee in Support of a Democratic Iran (MCSDI) is an independent organization supporting human rights and democracy in Iran and has no association with any political group. Specifically, MCSDI has not, and will not, cooperate with the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and believes NIAC's policies and actions since its formation have been contrary to the interests of Iranian people, and it has acted as the de facto lobbyist of the Iranian regime. We also realize there are many political opportunists who have recently jumped on the bandwagon of "Woman, Life, Freedom" whereas their past record indicates their indifference to the atrocities committed by the Iranian regime. While we welcome anyone who has risen to help the Iranian people in their pro-democracy movement, we reserve the right to distance ourselves from those who we believe are supporting this movement for their own benefits.
