Women Life Freedom
For years we have watched the brave women of Iran resist the fundamentalist regime and its barbaric rules, denying their basic and legitimate human rights. Today, however, we are witnessing their anger turned into an all out uprising. What had begun as a protest for killing of Mahsa Amini, a 22 year-old girl, at the hands of the so-called “morality police” in Tehran, has now morphed into an all out revolt against the tyrannical Islamic regime in Iran. Ever since Mahsa’s murder at the hands of the regime’s thugs, peaceful protests and demonstrations around many cities and towns in Iran have been subjected to bloodshed and ruthless attacks by the regime’s security forces. The regime’s mercenaries have used live ammunitions against unarmed and peaceful protesters and so far over 200 people have been killed and many thousands injured and arrested.
After over 40 years of barbaric rule by a reactionary fundamentalist regime and its brutal treatment of Iranian population, people of all walks of life and places have come together in an uprising. They are not only asking for justice for Mahsa, but are calling for the overthrow of the entire regime and an end to a nightmare, which has ravaged their country, called the Islamic Republic.
Today, as we have gathered here in support of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and dignity, we call on everyone, especially our public officials and leaders to help spread our voices and call for justice and liberty in Iran, to Washington and beyond. We condemn the murder of Mahsa and hundreds of protestors during the ongoing anti-regime demonstrations at the hands of those who are supposed to protect the public.
Please help spread the word and support Iranian people’s struggle for liberation & a just society.
